First Impressions of LSG Denim

Hey everyone, just a little background on me as a denim wearer. I work at Banana Republic part time so a lot of my denim tends to come from there or Gap, but I do have some denim from the Williamsburg Garment Co as well. I discovered this brand through Reddit oddly enough. You can find their website here

LSG Denim

LSG Denim is a Canada based company that makes their denim in a small facility in Kathmandu, Nepal. I was able to get a hold of Papohang the owner to get my sizing right when I ordered and he mentioned that they have three people working in the factory and make at the max 8 pairs of denim a day. This definitely surprised me, but it seems like they are trying hard to dial in on quality control, certainly not a bad thing.

Unboxing

It came in a nice, pizza style box branding with the LSG Denim logo. Opening it I found the denim nicely wrapped as well as a small booklet that explained how to take care of the denim and how to break the denim in. I found the booklet very useful as I don't have very many pairs of selvedge denim and this was the heaviest pair I have owned so far so I definitely used their instructions on breaking the denim in.

The Denim & Fit

I was kind of apprehensive when I was ordering them because I know selvedge denim can be a little different than normal denim when it comes to sizing. I used their sizing chart and measured one of my jeans that fits me best to hopefully get the fit right on the first try. I like a pant that has just a little bit of room in the thigh, but tapers through the calf with a smaller leg opening so when I read that the Brunswick-T was a "straight tapered" fit I was a bit worried that the leg opening or thigh would be too baggy for my taste. To my surprise when I first slipped them on they fit really well throughout my entire leg. The length was perfect as well, I love to cuff my jeans so I was able to cuff them twice and they are the perfect length for me (I'm 6'2" and I ordered 34 length) They were understandably stiff, but after doing some lunges and squats as they suggested they loosened up a little bit and the more I wore them (I've had them for about a month now) the more they loosened up and fit to my legs. If I were to order again, I think I would size down in the waist just slightly as I forgot that selvedge denim tends to loosen up in the waist after wearing them. Other than that, the jeans fit very well and have become one of my favorite pairs of denim.

Customer Service

As I mentioned above, I chatted with the owner as I was unsure of what size to order because i'm so picky when it comes to how my pants fit. He was very eager to help me and offered additional information on the fit of the pants and some of their company history. Through talking with him I could tell that he definitely takes pride in what he does.

Conclusion

Really impressed with LSG Denim and their products. If you are unsure of what size to get seriously make use of their sizing chart and measure a pair of jeans that fit you perfectly like I did. I know it may seem like a slight hassle to do so, but if you do it will minimize the chance that you may have to return them. If you guys would like I can review these again in another 3-6 months to see how they hold up over time.

Thanks
